Just so I'm clear... I support the employees who are venting about rude and inconsiderate customers, especially ones that buy $5 drinks but decide to tell the baristas why they won't tip them.
But for the most part, this website is full of spoiled brats, whining about their jobs and venting furiously about:
- customers who dare to buy the cheap version of an iced latte (see my blog posting "Suspend all sense of embarassment... and get a cheap iced latte / mocha") or;
- those that feel that you shouldn't try and ring through multiple purchases separately because it's too good a deal for the consumer (see my blog posting "This one is easy").
If your local Starbucks barista refuses to ring purchases through separately, ask to speak to a manager. If they refuse to help you, simply tell them you will take your business to another Starbucks (and as I've mentioned, there is no place in Vancouver that's more than 5 min. drive away from a Starbucks).

Let me ask: do you even have a life outside posting complaints about Starbucks and tips on how to cheat the system? If you hate Starbucks so much, why not visit all these mom and pop cafes you talk so much about. We don't want your patronage, really. We'd rather not hear your constant complaining. If our managers tell us we shouldn't be ringing items separately, then we will not. You can bitch and moan as much as you want, but in the end, I'd just suggest buying your own espresso machine so we don't have to hear from you again.
Its customers like you that I hope wont come back, so good if you don't like us you cheap prick.
